Its election day. Vote! Stories of retired life in Ajijic, Mexico on the shores of Lake Chapala. Projects at home in the mountains of central Mexico, our USA travels in a 40′ Monaco motor home, or whatever else is on my mind today.

The Statue of Liberty is an iconic landmark and one of the biggest tourist attractions in New York City, but it’s on an island…so how do you visit it? This video tells you about the only company that can take you to Liberty Island, Statue Cruises. Here are the links to the National Parks Service and Statue Cruises:
National Parks Service Tickets Page: https://www.nps.gov/stli/planyourvisit/fees.htm
Statue Cruises: https://www.statuecruises.com/
There are three types of tickets you can get – Reserve Tickets, Pedestal Reserve Tickets, and Crown Reserve Tickets. All of them get you a boat cruise to the Statue of Liberty, access to Liberty Island, and a visit to Ellis Island. But what’s the difference, and which is best? Find out in the video!

Lady Liberty, the Statue of Liberty on the Susquehanna River
(DRONE FOOTAGE PROVIDED BY MATTHEW DRESSLER/Special to PennLive)
Lady Liberty, the replica of the Statue of Liberty which has occupied an abandon pier in the Susquehanna River for over three decades. The original statue was set in place on July 1, 1986, by local activist Gene Stilp and friends in recognition of the original, which turned 100 that summer.
She was originally 17.5 feet tall, weighed 450 pounds and was made of venetian blinds and wood.
She was originally supposed to be removed by Labor Day in 1986 but ended up staying until 1992 when a storm did her in.
With more help, fundraising and all the proper permits, Stilp and his buddies built a new Lady Liberty out of metal, plywood and fiberglass. She was 25 feet tall and weighed 4 tons.
She still stands today with the help of volunteers who sometimes clean and repair her.

► Spider-Man 2 | Visiting the Statue of Liberty
Visiting Ellis Island and Lady Liberty is only allowed in Spider-Man 2 (2004). To get there, players need to hitch a ride on 3 helicopters. This video showcases how. Based on the original “Spider-Man” with Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, “Spider-Man 2” features Peter Parker as he struggles between his personal life which involves Mary Jane Watson and his superhero life where he joins up with Black Cat battling a series of foes including Doctor Octopus.
